New PR Agency Making Waves in San Diego

Reema Makani Boccia, APR, is proud to announce the launch of San Diego’s newest public relations, marketing and corporate events firm, Two Rivers Strategies, which will be serving  industries including health, public safety, construction, real estate and the green industry.

Boccia is an award-winning public relations professional with nearly a decade of experience in the business. In addition to launching her own company, she is also the incoming president of the local chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the largest trade organization for PR professionals in San Diego and the nation. She is the first Middle Eastern female to lead the organization’s San Diego & Imperial Counties Chapter.

Boccia most recently spent seven years in the corporate PR department of Rural/Metro Ambulance, one of the nation’s largest ambulance providers. There, she managed internal and external communication, social media, corporate events and community relations for the San Diego region. Prior to Rural/Metro, Boccia was an account manager at The McRae Agency where she spearheaded efforts for some of the firm’s largest accounts, including Henry’s Farmers Market, Solatube International and KB Home.

A pillar of Two Rivers Strategies is community involvement, demonstrated by Boccia being a LEAD San Diego graduate and volunteering for a number of nonprofits in recent years, including the San Diego Zoo, the Mt. Helix Foundation and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. She has been on the board of directors of PRSA since 2007, and has chaired numerous event committees and raised record-breaking funds for the chapter. Her accolades include the PRSA Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), 2012 California Emergency Medical Service Authority Community Service Award, 2007 MADD Volunteer of the Year Award and the 2005 PRSA New Professional of the Year Award.

Boccia graduated from San Diego State University with bachelor of arts degrees in communication, with an emphasis in public relations, and political science.
